WEX Brings Its Technology to Japan with New JCB International Partnership
JCB International, the international operations subsidiary of JCB, announced a new partnership with WEX, a global provider of corporate payments solutions, to enable WEX virtual payments technology in Japan.
The agreement makes WEX the first B to B issuer of JCB’s virtual cards and enables new functionality on the JCB network. The program will launch in the second half of 2019.
“The JCB collaboration represents WEX’s commitment to expanding our presence in the Asia market, and entering Japan is an exciting step for us,” said Jay Dearborn, president of WEX Corporate Payments. “It is a continuation of WEX’s long-term strategy and goal to be the only technology partner in virtual payments that offers multiple payment schemes to businesses.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with WEX in Japan,” said Ray Shinzawa, President and COO at JCB International Credit Card Co., Ltd. (JCB USA). “The innovative technology of the WEX platform plus JCB’s merchant acceptance reach in Japan and throughout Asia make this an ideal partnership.”
CARDFREE Launches Pay at Table Service via Consumer Mobile Device
Cardfree, a mobile wallet provider to large merchants, announced at Groceryshop that it has launched the easiest to deploy pay at table service in market today.
CARDFREE’s new service does not require investment in new hardware and has already been pre-integrated with 90 percent of restaurant POS systems. Consumers simply use their mobile devices to launch the restaurant app or mobile web page where they can view and pay their checks. Average deployment times range between two to four weeks.
Since launching in 2012, CARDFREE has become the leading mobile wallet platform to QSRs and has expanded into casual dining as well as other high-volume merchant segments such as fuel and convenience. CARDFREE services have evolved to accommodate growing restaurant needs including order-ahead, catering, delivery, mobile wait lists and now pay at table.
“There is a gap in the market for an easy, national, pay at table solution,” commented Jon Squire CEO and founder of CARDFREE. “Current solutions tend to be regional, require an investment in new hardware, and have lengthy deployment times for POS integrations. Other options are tied to the reservation and only allow the person that made the reservation to pay. Restaurants have been asking us for a better option and today that option has arrived.”
Data Sharing and Standardization Technology Provider Validis Strengthens Public Relations Efforts by Partnering with William Mills Agency
Validis, a provider of financial data sharing and standardization technology, has launched its DataShare product line, which features a suite of APIs (DataShare APIs) and an online portal to view the data (DataShare View).
DataShare provides financial institutions with fast, easy access to a SMB client’s financial data, direct from their accounting application, in a standardized format.
SMB borrowers benefit from quicker decisions and automation of the collection and transfer of their financial data to the lender. Likewise, lenders benefit from access to the borrower’s accurate, complete and current financial data, which provides greater insights, speeds decisioning and minimizes risk.
Validis connects to over 80 percent of online and offline accounting applications used by the SMB market and extracts the full transactional history. The data is encrypted, interrogated for accuracy and standardized. No client configuration or data preparation is required for either the lender or the borrower. Borrowers’ complete financials are delivered into the lender’s credit system within minutes.
With DataShare APIs, lenders can receive the extracted data in the format they prefer. DataShare View, Validis’ intuitive online portal, allows lenders to easily analyze a standardized view of their customers’ uploaded financials. Additional features include: upload scheduling tool, administrative control, data configuration, white labeling and the ability to download the data into Excel to drill down through multiple months, quarters or years.
