EC approves BNP Paribas proposed acquisition of Opel/Vauxhall financing arms
The European Commission approved the proposed acquisition by Groupe PSA and BNP Paribas of the captive companies of Opel/Vauxhall.
This proposed deal to jointly acquire the captive financing companies of Opel/Vauxhall and to build a strategic long-term partnership around the Opel and Vauxhall brands was announced on 6 March 2017, as part of the acquisition of Opel/Vauxhall by Groupe PSA. .
These activities will benefit from the combined expertise of Banque PSA Finance and BNP Paribas Personal Finance in automotive financing, to better serve dealers and Opel and Vauxhall customers and support the development of the two brands.
SIX Payment Services acquires terminal business of Aduno
SIX Payment Services Ltd is purchasing from Aduno Group the business unit Aduno SA, responsible for acquiring and terminal business (card acceptance and processing).
By so doing, SIX is underscoring its aim of driving forward its growth and consolidating its position over the long term as the leading provider of card-based payment services in Switzerland and Europe. The sale of Aduno SA to SIX has been completed. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
GoCardless and Sage open up access to Direct Debit
Direct Debit provider, GoCardless, and Sage have announced a partnership to create a closer link between accountancy software and payments to support small and medium businesses.
The new integration with Sage will allow its customers to tap into the previously hard to access Direct Debit system, enabling them to automate payments in both the UK and across Europe.
Nordea partners with Basware for dynamic discounting solution
Nordea will partner with Finnish company Basware to provide a dynamic discounting solution to customers across the Nordics. Dynamic discounting allows businesses to improve their bottom line by letting them pay suppliers faster and receive a discount for early payment.
The newly agreed partnership means Nordea and Basware will jointly offer a dynamic discounting solution to Nordea’s corporate customers, while Basware will deliver the solution integrated into the customers’ Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) or customer’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions. The agreement further enhances Nordea’s position as a leading working capital service provider, with a focus on helping customers maximise their efficiencies in this area, and Basware’s place as a leading provider of financing technology solutions.
CPay to offer CardFlight mobile POS
CardFlight, a mobile point of sale (POS) technology provider and Central Payment (CPAY), a merchant service provider that offers payment, loyalty and marketing services to businesses, announced that CPAY is offering CardFlight’s SwipeSimple mobile POS solution, enabling merchants to accept EMV chip card payments on the go from their mobile devices.
CPAY is a joint venture with TSYS, a provider of seamless, secure and innovative solutions that operates in more than 80 countries with local offices across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
