The banking sector is globally changing because the new generation digital banks, also known as challenger banks, are starting to capture an essential market share against traditional banks.
Özgür Bayraktar, who leads the critical fintech projects in Turkey and in Europe, draws up this historic transformation of traditional banking in his third book of the Next Generation Banking.
Bayraktar: “Branch banking will completely come to an end in a decade.”
Bayraktar stated that 2.4 billion people around the world carried out their banking activities completely through digital channels in 2020 according to Juniper Research. He also underlines that this figure could exceed 3.6 billion by 2024 and this situation could bring the end of branch banking in 10 years.
The book is of interest to young people who want to pursue a career in the financial world and to all business people interested in financial technologies. Also, it addresses the transformation in which banks evolved from the past to the future, RPA, Open Banking, Blockchain, Wealthtech, and RegTech in 18 chapters.
