Mesh has announced a strategic partnership with Visa to connect cryptocurrency and stablecoin balances to everyday payments.

Announced during Money20/20 USA 2026, the partnership aims to enable consumers to spend digital asset balances through Visa’s global acceptance network without separately transferring funds or obtaining a dedicated crypto card.

Mesh has announced a strategic partnership with Visa to connect cryptocurrency and stablecoin balances to everyday payments. Unveiled on October 19, 2026, the collaboration combines Mesh’s payment orchestration infrastructure with Visa’s acceptance network, spanning more than 175 million merchant locations across over 200 countries and territories.

The partnership is designed to allow consumers to make in-store and online purchases using balances held in participating digital wallets and platforms.

How the Payment Experience Will Work

Under the proposed model, participating wallet providers will integrate with Mesh to enable payments directly from users’ existing cryptocurrency, stablecoin or fiat balances.

A Visa payment credential will be provisioned behind the scenes, allowing consumers to pay at standard contactless terminals or during online checkout. Mesh will coordinate transaction funding and currency conversion, while merchants will receive payments through their existing payment infrastructure.

The arrangement is intended to eliminate the need for consumers to manually transfer funds to a bank account, preload a separate payment product or obtain a dedicated crypto card.

Mesh will also act as program manager, handling user onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Digital asset platforms will be able to access the payment infrastructure through a single Mesh integration without independently operating their own card programs.

Bridging Digital Assets and Everyday Commerce

According to Crypto.com research cited in the announcement, global cryptocurrency ownership reached 774 million people in June 2026. Mesh also referenced American Banker figures indicating that crypto card payment volumes were approximately $1.5 billion per month in late 2025.

Despite growing ownership, turning digital asset balances into everyday purchasing power remains a challenge.

“Mesh handles the funding and conversion, so a balance becomes purchasing power at the moment of payment, with nothing for the user to move and nothing for the merchant to change,” said Bam Azizi, CEO and Co-founder of Mesh.

Rubail Birwadker, Global Head of Growth at Visa, highlighted consumers’ growing expectations for flexibility in how and where they use their money, adding that the partnership would help connect digital asset balances to established payment experiences.

A Single Integration for Digital Asset Platforms

Mesh reports that more than 200 enterprises currently use its network, which connects digital wallets, exchanges and financial services platforms.

Its existing enterprise relationships include Kalshi, Tools for Humanity, Félix Pago, Majority and KAST.

The partnership builds on Mesh’s broader digital asset infrastructure strategy. Over the past year, the company joined Paxos’s Global Dollar Network, launched the Mesh Alliance Program with more than 50 partners and introduced Mesh Wallet, which enables AI agents to execute transactions using stablecoins.

Initial availability, supported devices and participating platforms have yet to be announced. The partnership therefore establishes a planned connection between digital asset balances and Visa’s global acceptance infrastructure, with the rollout details still to follow.

The development highlights the growing role of payment orchestration in connecting blockchain-based assets with established merchant payment systems, particularly as stablecoins move toward wider commercial use.
